Karen understands emotional eating, weight loss struggles, and the cycle of starting over—not from theory, but from lived experience.

For years, she lived in the exact cycle so many women find themselves in. Being “on track,” eating healthy, feeling in control… and then slowly slipping back into emotional eating habits, sugar cravings, and late-night overeating.

Long days. Exhaustion. Pressure. Running a business. Raising a family.

Turning to food not because she was hungry—but because something deeper was driving it.

There were moments of hiding. Eating in secret. Promising herself “tomorrow will be different.” Only to wake up and repeat the same pattern again.

She knew how to lose weight. She had done it before.

And yet, she kept finding herself back in the same place.

And then life hit in a way that changes everything.

During what should have been a normal season of life, Karen’s family experienced a deeply traumatic event when her youngest daughter was harmed by someone they trusted.

And it wasn’t just the youngest, their oldest daughter was suffering too, the whole family was affected in unimaginably awful ways.

Everything shifted.

There was shock. Grief. Fear. Shame. And More. A deep sense of heartbreak and chaos that no family is ever prepared for.

In that season, nothing felt stable.

And like so many women navigating stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm, Karen found herself pulled back toward food. Not because she lacked discipline. Not because she didn’t know better.

But because she was trying to cope. To hold everything together. To survive.

That was the moment everything became clear.

The problem was never just weight loss.

It wasn’t about willpower or discipline.

And when life challenged her again in later years, she didn’t spiral completely back into old patterns. But it made her think on a whole new level.

Karen realized she needed to dive even deeper. She thought she was living in true freedom but in hindsight was really living a very restrictive life.
